I started working as a machinist and welder before transitioning into engineering. This led me to launch my own consulting company, ultimately building a career with high-tech startups and Fortune 500 companies in Silicon Valley. I built my home in the Gold Country in 1999 and am giving back by serving on the board of Rocky Road, working to preserve and enhance our way of life in this rare and wonderful community.
I have been a resident of our great community since 1988. I am currently retired. I worked in the electronic industry for over 24 years. Prior to retirement, I was the Association Manager for Poker Flat Property Owners Association for over 20 years.
After retiring from thirty years of law enforcement in the Bay Area, John Howsden moved to Copperopolis to enjoy the relaxing surroundings of county living. Part of that relaxation comes from taking long walks on the roads throughout the quiet neighborhoods. "By serving on the board, I hope to keep these roads safe and well maintained. We all use them in some fashion, so let’s have the best roads possible"
After working in public safety, 911 communications for 36 years, Mark retired to Copperopolis full-time in 2016 with his wife. He enjoys being outdoors, skiing, hiking, off-roading, and cruising the world. Mark has experience in maintaining roads to communications sites and will focus his efforts on making sure our limited maintenance funds will be the most effectively spent.
