Copperopolis California
Copper Cove Rocky Road Community Service District was formed in 1984 and is located in Copperopolis, California in the southwestern portion of Calaveras County.
The District is governed by a Board of Directors of five members who are appointed by the County Board of Supervisors after one of the following:
- a vote of the members living in the district
- by submitting a request to the County Supervisors when there is an open position with only one applicant.
The Board of Directors are appointed for four-year terms.
The Board meets monthly. All Board Members serve as volunteers and are unpaid.
Community Service District
A community service district is a local organization that delivers public services to a geographically limited area.
The Copper Cove Rocky Road Community Service District has 569 parcels. The District provides road maintenance for approximately 16 miles of roads including as needed:
- filling potholes
- road base spreading
- laying asphalt
- road side spraying
- ditching
- road side tree trimming
- road sign maintenance
The District does not own facilities or equipment for road maintenance but rather contracts for such services.
